Bangkok - Thailand

Thailand’s capital is one of the most visited places in Asia. Whether as a gateway for further travel in the continent or as a main destination, Bangkok draws thousands of visitors every year. What exactly the best time to visit Bangkok is depends on what you’re after.

In terms of weather, the best time to visit Bangkok is late November to mid-January. During these months, the weather is at its most temperate. Temperatures are reasonably cool, so that you’re not sweating quite as much as during the rest of the year.

Following the relatively cool season is the summer. From mid-January the temperature begins to steadily increase, and form March to May it can be intolerably hot. The heat is exacerbated by the tightly constructed city. The buildings tend to trap heat, making the summer months steaming hot. These months are definitely not the best time to visit Bangkok.

The last season is, of course, the rainy season. Between late May and October or November the country is warm and humid and enjoys regular showers. Bangkok experiences buckets of rain and even thunderstorms that can be quite intense. Although this isn’t the best time to visit Bangkok, many, many people still do. If you are one of them, be sure to bring an umbrella. It will be too hot for a raincoat, and certainly too hot for rain boots. Opt instead for easy-to-dry shoes that you can slip off when the time comes for you to wade!

Regardless of whether or not you choose to go during the best time to visit Bangkok, remember to stay well hydrated and dress in light clothing. Bear in mind, however, that you should maintain a respectful conservativeness when choosing your clothes, especially when visiting the temples.
